Attorney & Trust Asset Specialist
I grew up in Portland, Oregon, completed my undergraduate degree at the Citadel in South Carolina, and completed my law degree at the University of San Francisco. I started my professional career in the Marine Corps, and left active duty service in 2012 shortly after a deployment to Afghanistan as an intelligence officer. Prior to law school, I worked in construction sales and project management for Mitsubishi Electric and United Technologies in the Bay Area.
I continued this work as a project manager for United Technologies while attending evening classes at the University of San Francisco with a concentration in tax law. During law school, I was an editor for the law review and published two articles on tax and blockchain technology. I started work as a staff tax attorney at Ernst and Young's San Francisco office following graduation in 2018 and joined the Summerall Law team in September 2019 so I could focus my legal skills on helping individuals rather than large corporations.
In my free time, I enjoy art, music, and the outdoors. I play guitar and banjo daily, and make miniature clay sculptures that are inspired by my love of stop-motion animation, campy cinema, and Max Flesichner cartoons from the 1920's. On a sunny weekend, you can find me skateboarding in Golden Gate Park, hiking through redwoods, or surfing in Santa Cruz. In the evening, I’m likely to be with a group of close friends sharing a meal and playing music.
